The minutes of the October 13, 2010 Board Meetings were sent to the board members and Brian asked if there were any corrections or additions to them.  Kay made a motion to accept the minutes as written, and Merwyn seconded the motion.  The vote was unanimous and the minutes were accepted as written.

CALL TO THE PUBLIC

Carol brought to the attention of the board the following announcements:

There will be a benefit breakfast on Saturday, November 20th from 7:00 AM – 10:00 AM for a firefighter whose young son has a medical emergency.

Cammy Darris, Navajo County Assessor, would like an opportunity to speak at our next board meeting to explain the tax system as they are anticipating a reduction in taxes due to the reduction in property valuation.

There is a manual available “Draft Environmental Impact Statement from Public Motorized Travel Management Plan” from the USDA.

FINANCIAL REPORT

Carol reported the balance to date in Navajo County –Wells Fargo, National Bank of Arizona (payroll) and the Contingency Fund.   Each board member was given a copy of each bank register with receipts available.  Copies of the monthly reports with the bank statement registers and all financial transactions, minutes and agenda were in the board members packets sent to them the week prior to the board meeting.  Receipts of all financial transactions were available for the board members to review and warrants were signed.

MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS OF VEHICLES

We have not received bids for general maintenance for vehicles.  Merwyn made a motion to take it to the two shops in Linden, DeWitt Automotive and Linden Valley Automotive, because they are in district.  Kay seconded the motion.  Loran abstained from voting as his brother is owner of DeWitt Automotive.  The vote was unanimous and the motion carried.

DONATION OF AMBULANCE

This is a recommendation from the Chief to donate the ambulance to White Mountain Lake Fire District.  We do not utilize this piece of equipment, there is a cost for insurance, maintenance and we do not have a license to transport.  This was a donation from DHS, and they given approval to donate it to White Mountain Lake Fire District.  Merwyn made a motion to donate the ambulance to White Mountain Lake Fire District, and Loran seconded the motion.  The vote was unanimous and the motion carried.

CHIEF'S REPORT

      A.  Call outs:  EMS  - 9,  Fire – 7,  Other (public assist) – 5, False Alarm – 1, Good Intent - 1

      B.  Quarterly training – multiple agencies working together.

       C.   Monthly training – inhouse.

      D.  First alarm on an attic fire with Show Low, Lakeside, Pinetop, and Linden; great working relationship.

      E.  CERT – A letter was given to each board member from the Navajo County Citizen Corps Council (see attached) to resume control of the Linden CERT trailer because “Linden CERT team is not a viable or functioning team”.  They will be consolidating 2 teams to establish 1 team at White Mountain Lake Fire District.  Chief reminded the board members that we do have access to a CERT team if needed.  Chief felt is was not necessary to appeal this decision by the CCC.

Respectfully submitted,
